Letter of the day ~ S for Stunningly Spectacular

Ok, so I'm not even sure if Webster recognizes "stunningly" as a word but I like it!  And besides stunning, there is only 1 word to describe today's show-n-tell... SPECTACULAR!

Amanda Taylor stopped in to show us her finished Dear Jane quilt which was absolutely stunning and did I mention S-P-E-C-T-A-C-U-L-A-R. The quilting was simply unbelievable.  Any one of us quilters that knows the time that goes into any quilt (let alone a quilt like this) can TRULY appreciate a quilt like this.  This is a real treasure! Way to go Amanda, thank you so much for sharing this beauty with us!

Ok, now it's time for some fun with the letter S... Count the S's in this post to be entered into our giveaway. While Mary Ellen (or 'Mom' as I know her) is in Paducah at the 26th Annual AQS Quilt Show I only have one day to give something away before she comes home and finds out!  All you have to do is count how many S's are in this post and email me your answer. Don't post it as a comment, that would give the answer away!

One winner will be selected at random to win 3 fat quarters of Amy Butler's "Love" Collection in blues, purples and lucious periwinkles.  As with all of our give aways: international winners will pay shipping.

Good luck, happy quilting and Start counting.....

Spring cleaning... we're having a garage sale!

Spring cleaning... I wonder who came up with that idea?  It always feels good to clean out your house, garage, attic and wherever else you've got hidden treasures.  We've been Spring cleaning at the store too!

We'll be having a "garage sale" this weekend so we can make room for all the new things we've got coming.  Before we can say "Supercalafragalisticexpealadocious, it will be time to set up for Christmas again!  But first, we've got to sell some of our "treasures" so we will have the room for it in the store!

Come on out and see what we have for sale!

The garage sale will be held in our classroom on Friday, April 16th from 10am to 5pm and Saturday, April 17th from 10am to 3pm.

We've got treasures from notions to books to gifts to fabric bolts, bundles, and fat quarters galore!  Bring a friend, you'll need them to help you carry all of your goodies!

Hope to see you there!

And the winner is....

And our blog winner for the Spring give away prize is.... (drum roll please) JODY!  She's was working on "carrot goodie bags" for her grandkids, sounds super cute!  Jody won an autographed copy of our "Wildflowers" By Little Quilts booklet and one of our spring towel kits.

Thanks to everyone for posting.  We love reading abaout the fun projects our readers are up to!

Happy Quilting!

Shop Hop, Show N Tell and a fun class....

We're really enjoying his fabulous Spring weather Georgia is having!  What's your weather like where you live?
Shop Hop was fun (as always) and the happy winner of our Shop Hop gift basket this year was Kathy Frank. In keeping with our picnic theme, we packed all our goodies in a picnic basket. Kathy received a quilt kit and many Little Quilts books and patterns in her gift basket. We had so much fun seeing all of you at the Shop Hop this year and hope you had fun "hopping". The weather made it a perfect week-end to shop, didn't it? We hope to see all of you back again soon!

Mary Anne Eubanks is making this appliqué quilt for her daughter. It was inspired by our last years appliqué block of the month from the book the Circuit Rider. She was in to pick some more fabrics to do four more blocks and to choose her borders.

One of our very artistic teachers, Marty Young, teaches a class on Mixed Media. These are some samples of her work. If you sign up for her class, she gives you one of the birds! It's a fun class that will have you scouring the house for bric-a-brac and will stretch your creativity to new levels.
