Did someone say Zippers?

Zippers, zippers and MORE zippers.....

We've got lots of new purse and tote bag patterns. These all use the new zippers and are quick and easy to make. The “Peek-A-Boo” Bag pattern has a vinyl side – no more losing your sewing supplies in the bottom of the bag as everything is visible!

And I feel like a blog posting is not complete without a little show-n-tell from our talented customers...

It’s getting close to the 4th of July and we’re seeing lots of patriotic quilts. Carol Ann Holton used the pattern from last year’s Second Saturday Sampler quilt to set a collection of red, white and blue sampler blocks . We love the border – what a great way to showcase an unusual fabric.

Another “flag waving” quilt ready for the holiday!

Renee Medley and her husband stopped by the shop on their way home to Tennessee after a wonderful vacation on Sanibel Island. We love to see Renee because she always brings the most beautiful appliquéd quilts to show us! This one is from the pattern “A Tisket A Tasket” by Bunny Hill. Renee is hand quilting the quilt and I wish you could see her quilting stitches – she’s good!

As always... Happy Quilting!

Mary Ellen was busy at market...

Mary Ellen found some of the most exciting new things at market! The front table is loaded with new books and we have a whole spinner full of new patterns that we know you’re going to love.

Don’t miss out on these 5 packs! Each pack includes 5 coordinated 1 yard cuts and they’re only $30. Packs are available in reproduction fabrics, homespuns, batiks and more!

Also new from market are these charm necklaces from Two Charming Ladies. The chains and handmade charms are the newest HOT item! We have necklaces already assembled or buy a chain, select your own individual charms, and design your own one-of-a-kind necklace.

Sew many Trunk Shows, sew little time....

You have to stop by the store to see all these beautiful trunk shows we have right now!

These quilts are from the Clothesline Quilts trunk show that features reproduction quilts.

Several of the quilts are named after Civil War Generals. One is even named “Atlanta” – that’s a must-have! Of course, we have patterns available for all these beautiful quilts.

Another trunk show that just arrived is from Cozy Quarters. Those of you who like primitive homespun style quilts are going to love this quilt! Stop by the shop to see other patterns by Cozy Quarters.

We hope you can make some time to stop by and see all of these beautiful quilts we have on display!

I'm back.... where do I begin?

I've fallen behind on my blogging and of course, as soon as I did, a million "happenings" popping up at the store.  So let's play a little catch up shall we?

Stop by to the shop to see this fabulous trunk show! All the quilts are from the book "Quilt Collection" from That Patchwork Place and are designed by your favorite designers. Call the store 770-578-6727 if you're interested in a kit for any of these quilts.

We have some great new fabric that just came in. “Stonehenge” from Northcott Fabrics really looks like ancient stones in many beautiful colors. I’m planning to use them in some appliqué blocks, but they will look great in pieced quilts, too.

You, too, can have a tote bag just like this one for your next trip to the beach or lake. The bag is from a printed panel so it’s very easy to make. We also have the cutest coordinating fabrics with footprints in the sand and flip flops that would be great for lining the bag.

How about some show n tell.....
Long-time customer Billie Crumley drove all the way from Alabama to share this masterpiece with us. Included on the quilt are some old family pictures. What a crazy quilt treasure for her family!

Another stunning appliquéd quilt from Billie Crumley!

Karen Dixon completed this gorgeous quilt from the Vintage Moments pattern by Sharon McCloskey. Absolutely beautiful!

Joy Smith (on the left) used local designer Becky Black’s (on the right) “Snips & Snails” pattern and turned it into this cute little quilt for a boy. Very clever!

Carolyn Shea read in the Little Quilts newsletter that there would be a gift for those bringing in Little Quilt heart quilts. We were so surprised when Carolyn brought in this cute quilt! It’s made from a vintage 1980’s Little Quilt kit that she purchased at the Village Quilt Shop in Stone Mountain. Carolyn brought in the quilt and the original packaging. And it’s FINISHED! Yea!!!

Did someone say Civil War Tribute???
When we were in Paducah we saw this finished Civil War Tribute quilt. For those of you in the Civil War Block of the Month, keep working on those blocks -- this is your goal! It’s a stunner!

Quilting for ConKerr Cancer
Debbie Wall, her daughter Amber, and her grand-daughter Sydney brought in 150 pillowcases to be donated to ConKerr Cancer. The pillowcases were made by their church in Kennesaw. Don’t forget we’re still collecting for the American Patchwork & Quilting One Million Pillowcase Challenge. Debbie’s pillowcases have been added to the count and we’d like to encourage all of you to help reach this goal by making pillowcases, too!
