Two Trunk Shows at Little Quilts
Little Quilts is hosting not one, but two trunk shows right now. Threads That Bind show is featured on the mantel in the wool area of the shop: appealing wool figures known as Crow Catcher (pumpkin man), Stocking Stuffer (Santa), Perfect Potion (witch), and Candy Cane (snowman; not pictured). These guys really have a presence:
Just arrived today, July 2nd, are ten fantastic quilts from Civil War Legacies, a pattern company featuring reproduction style quilts. In the group shown below are Grandpa's Cards, Allie Beane, Alexander's Bean Pot, and Abigail's Gowns, to name a few:

Carrie Nelson Visits Little Quilts
While Carrie Nelson (see her June 18th blog post) was visiting Georgia to speak at the Etowah Valley Quilt Guild about her quilts and life as a pattern designer (attended in force by many Little Quilts devotees as well as the regular Guild members :-) -- see Field Trip photo), Carrie visited quilt shops in the area and posted lovely photos of each shop, including Little Quilts:

Thank you, Carrie! At her talk, Carrie showed a bounty of her quilts, including many of her Schnibbles, and spoke about what interests her about designing quilts, such as how she enjoys the challenge of puzzling out a quilt that can be made with, say, two charm packs, or a jelly roll. She enjoys the mathematics of quilt pattern design, as evidenced by the charming complexity of her patterns.

From Market
Mary Ellen returned from Quilt Market in Pittsburgh with lots of new books, patterns and rulers. All here for fun projects. Purses and pincushions were very popular at Market; patterns are arriving daily for these. Hand-dyed wool was shown in many buttonhole stitch patterns. Shown here are bundles and fat 1/4ths of the beautiful wool. We have it in squares, strips, fat 1/8ths as well as individual pieces. Wonderful to stitch with!
