Trunk Show at Little Quilts: New Designer
Come in to Little Quilts to see the latest trunk show; this is from a brand-new designer named Remember When. Here is Pat a Cake (38" x 48"), a summery nine-patch with entrancing scalloped borders:
Yours 'Til Butterflies (69" x 88"), a zippy rendition of 30s butterflies: Notice that there is no applique with these butterflies: they are all pieced and even have cute little four-patches:

Carrie Nelson Visits Little Quilts
While Carrie Nelson (see her June 18th blog post) was visiting Georgia to speak at the Etowah Valley Quilt Guild about her quilts and life as a pattern designer (attended in force by many Little Quilts devotees as well as the regular Guild members :-) -- see Field Trip photo), Carrie visited quilt shops in the area and posted lovely photos of each shop, including Little Quilts:
Thank you, Carrie! At her talk, Carrie showed a bounty of her quilts, including many of her Schnibbles, and spoke about what interests her about designing quilts, such as how she enjoys the challenge of puzzling out a quilt that can be made with, say, two charm packs, or a jelly roll. She enjoys the mathematics of quilt pattern design, as evidenced by the charming complexity of her patterns.

Field Trip to Hear Miss Rosie's Quilt Company Lecture
Mary Ellen's Stash Therapy class made a 'field trip' to The Etowah Valley Quilt Guild Meeting in Cartersville to hear Carrie Nelson of Miss Rosie's Quilt Company's lecture on scrap quilts and how she designs them. Carrie gave a great lecture with lots of her quilts to see in real life. See her popular patterns at the shop including her newest "Schnibbles" line to make small quilts with charm packs. We love her new pincushion pattern 'Fruit Salad' with patterns for watermelon or strawberry pincushions.

From Market
Mary Ellen returned from Quilt Market in Pittsburgh with lots of new books, patterns and rulers. All here for fun projects. Purses and pincushions were very popular at Market; patterns are arriving daily for these. Hand-dyed wool was shown in many buttonhole stitch patterns. Shown here are bundles and fat 1/4ths of the beautiful wool. We have it in squares, strips, fat 1/8ths as well as individual pieces. Wonderful to stitch with!
