Christmas Shopping at Little Quilts

Are you like this little lady who wondered how to find decorations for her house this Christmas? Well, she went to shop at Little Quilts and this is what she found...

She was quite taken with the cheerful red and white Christmas throw ($40) and the matching Christmas tree skirt (below, $45)...

She also noticed the very Christmasy bucket with cardinal that is laden with greens ($24.98) and handsome feather trees scattered through the Little Quilts shop ($28.95)...

...and she went home to tell her friends about the wonderful Christmas finds at Little Quilts...

Christmas Is Coming to Little Quilts

Be sure to stop in at Little Quilts to see what has arrived with the Christmas season. There are wonderful ornaments, delightful primitive ones shown above on this particular tree, but there are more! Below and to the left is a wonderful quilt made from the book Positively Pineapple by Possibilities; the book is available in the store for $21.95. To the right is a quilt made from the book A Cozy Quilted Christmas: 17 Projects to Decorate Your Home. The book is available for $28.95; Little Quilts has also gotten kits together for you for $32.95. Little Quilts has just what you need to get in the holiday spirit.

This Little Quilts member of the monthly Wool Works class is showing her wonderful buttonholed wool pennies bedspread:

Isn't it stupendous?

It's amazing how much you can get done while riding in a car if you keep at it! Class members work on various wool projects of their own choosing. This particular wool pennies pattern is from the book Modern Primitive Quilts, which is available in the shop.

This charming book, Mother Earth and her Children (a quilted fairy tale), is also available in the shop (autographed copies) for $17.95. Written more than 100 years ago, this is a hardcover collectible, pass-down-for-generations type of book. It is an imaginative tale about Mother Earth and her children and what they do during each season. The illustrations are from the Houston Best of Show award-winning quilt. Lots to look at and talk about as you read along with a child.

October at Little Quilts

"Then & Now", pieced by Mary Ellen and quilted by Dottie Richey. Mary Ellen used antique 8 Pointed Star quilt blocks, purchased at the Quilt Festival in Houston, and combined them with today's reproduction fabrics for a fun wallhanging. Dottie was the recipient of this quilt top at our 2006 Holiday Exchange; she hand quilted it in 'vintage fan style.' Mary Ellen loves combining old blocks with today's reproduction fabrics for great wallhangings and table toppers.

"Maple Harvest" and "Harvest Time" made by our own Kathie West. These hung at our booth at the recent East Cobb Quilters Guild Show. See the website for kits for these two quilts. Patterns in "Favorite Quilts from Anka's Treasures" book by Martingale. We've got the book at the shop plus an optional wool kit for the pumpkin, leaves and acorn applique. Also shown are "On Display" (pumpkins in a row) and "Antique Ornaments", both by Blueberry Hill. Pattern or kits are on our website.

“Blueberry Pie” pattern done in reproduction fabrics. A fun pattern from Silver Thimble Quilt Company. Pattern and/or kit available. Call the store for prices.

Little Quilts Show hangs overhead. A sampling of our gift exchange from the staff at Little Quilts. Staff and teachers each made a quilt top using designs from "From My Heart to Your Hands" designs by Lori Smith, for our 2006 holiday exchange. The recipient of the top then quilted their gift and then it became theirs. A great project for a stitch-in or exchange among
friends.

"Autumn Splendor" by Silver Thimble Quilt Company. We have kits for the table runner (27" x 41") in a Fall version of "Twinkle Twinkle" ($27.95). Pattern sold separately for $8. We did the applique leaves in wool so there's an optional wool applique kit with variegated pearl cotton to use for the blanket stitch.

Fall gift items include tin wall or door hangers with fall foliage, slate hangers and other goodies. Stop in while supplies last!

Fall decorations are abundant here at Little Quilts, including "caw"our friendly scarecrow waiting for you to take him hime. Lots of window sconces, pumpkins, and kits for Pumpkins Galore and Mummy Mambo (details on the website for kits).

Fun candle mats (7-8") perfect for any setting with a small votive candle. We have lots of Fall decorations, hope you can stop in soon.

Maple Harvest and Harvest Time

Our booth at the recent East Cobb Quilt Show featured this quilt, "Maple Harvest", along with "Harvest Time". Our own Kathie West made the quilts. "Maple Harvest" is on the cover of the book "Favorite Quilts from Anka's Treasures". The book is also available at the shop for $29.95. They are both beautiful quilts or table toppers to welcome the Fall Season. We have a few kits left. Check the website or stop in the shop.

"Harvest time" combines simple Log Cabin patchwork and easy applique for a fun table topper or wallhanging. There's enough fabric left from the "Maple Harvest" quilt if you add 1 yd. black plaid, 3/4 yd. background, and 3 fat quarters to make this quilt. We also have an optional kit ($12.95) of wools in orange, green, gold, and brown for applique.
