Kick Up You Heels

Hilda brought in this cute cowgirl quilt she made for her girlfriend using the pattern “Kick’n Heels” from Thankfully Sew. We had a trunk show that included this quilt during our shop hop, our theme was a Rodeo. Hilda liked it and the rest is history!

 

 

So much action for the eye

Wanda, one of our teachers is busy binding her trip around the world quilt. She lives fall colors and this is perfect!!! 

Walk Before You Can Run

Our Amanda helped Peggy plan this baby quilt and named it 'crawl before you walk'. We love the little foot prints and the bright colors. Peggy just bought the fabrics last week! Way to go Peggy !

Hoot for the Baby Quilt

Our very own Amanda made this quilt for her daughter's friends baby shower. We have the pattern - Hootenanny! It's adorable!!

Hand Pieced Stunner!

Lynette stopped by to show us this great quilt. You won’t believe it is 100” x 80” made of Batiks and it is all hand pieced. She calls this beauty “Joseph’s Coat”.

Blended Quilt Show and Tell

Wilda just got this quilt back from the machine quilter. The pattern is in the “Blended Quilts” book by Sharon Yenter. 

Art Masters fabric

Susan’s daughter is graduating from GA State with an Art History degree and I can’t think of a more perfect quilt for an art major. Susan used fabric featuring museum art of master painters. 

T-Shirt Designer

Tammy made this quilt for her daughter who designed all the T-shirts in the quilt for Juvenile Diabetes. What a great way to honor her daughter’s work!

Stitching Frenzy...

Embroidery is so popular right now, and embroidered blocks make beautiful quilts. Rosemarie loves to embroider and we were so happy she brought her newest quilt tops with her so we could see them.

Wool Works Group - Come and Join In - Sept 14

One of our creative customers appliquéd pages from her daughter’s favorite story books. Her work was so detailed you would think you were looking at actual pages from the books. What a fun quilt for her daughter to have!

Looks like they are straight from the pages of Pottery Barn

One of our customers decided she needed to use up some of her stash (now there’s a novel idea!). She just cut everything up, added sashing and my, oh, my! what a gorgeous stash buster quilt. For the back she used everything that was left!

Fly Like an Eagle!!

Staff member Kathie West just finished this beautiful appliqué top from a Lori Smith pattern. Stunning! She plans to hand quilt it.

The encouragement of a group in an ongoing class brings awesome results!

Marianne finished this gorgeous quilt “Folk Art Bloom” by Buggy Barn in Fran’s Primitive Class. It was simply stunning and the machine quilting was awesome.

Paula took a block of the month from Sue Spargo last year and this is the result. Her work with wools and her decorative stitching is a winner. She has been working in Fran’s Primitive group for some time. Paula also does rug hooking and the pear is her original design.

Join in...get inspired Primitive Club Tues. Sept. 4, Oct. 2, Nov. 6, Dec. 4 10am - 12pm This club meets the first Tuesday of every month.

Are you ready for some football?

Kathy made these quilts with "yellow brick road" pattern - a favorite! She said she's" a Gator by birth, but a bulldog at heart!" It's a great quilt in any school's colors.

Second Saturday Sampler July Show and Tell 2

Pat used the blocks from a Prairie Women Sewing Circle project to make a Table Topper.

 

With the blocks left over she made a matching runner for her buffet. Very Creative!

This creative group of reproduction scrap style quilters begin a new quarter of classes this Fall.   Look for a group called - Homestead Gathering Class



When Danita finished this Flying Geese quilt from a Jo Morton pattern, she decided it was one of her all-time favorite quilts. We had to agree – it’s beautiful!

Second Saturday Sampler Show and Tell - part one

Martha made a special baby quilt using a churn dash block with zoo animals in the center. The backing featured more zoo animals. Very cute!

It’s never too late to take great quilt blocks and set them into a quilt! Jeannette used her Second Saturday Sampler blocks from 2010 to make this beauty.

We love stars at Little Quilts, and Sue made a “show stopper”! Very patriotic

Summer Fun with Henry Glass Designers

We love summer here at Little Quilts.  The Fourth of July is a biggie.  We love all things red, white and blue and the opportunity to express our patriotism with fabric.  Also, we get an opportunity to meet some of our out of state fans as they travel down I-75 and take a short side trip off the highway to visit, on their summer trips.
Not only do we have a quilt shop, with all sorts of fabrics by many talented designers but we get a chance to be designers ourselves. The current line of fabric is Little Darlings and it gives our fans many design opportunities.  Take a look at this quilter/stitcher's cleverness.  Sheila took the stitchery designs and colored them in with crayons.  Vintage masterpieces.
