Former customer Becki who moved to Texas keeps in touch. She’s so proud to share she finished hand quilting and binding her son Benjamin’s quilt. Only problem she said is that her dog Finnegan thinks it belongs to him! Go figure! Guess he knows how soft a hand quilted quilt is!

Pillow Perfect
Another great Little Quilts class! Make a simple stuffed pillow and then change the look with a variety of sleeves...the perfect way to add a seasonal touch to your home.
Students in the class have gotten very creative with their pillow sleeves...
Vicki designed her own "beach" sleeve and Carolyn added glow-in-the-dark sparkle to her flower centers.

Charmed, I'm Sure!
We have a really fun class just for people who love to buy charm squares, but are never quite sure what to do with them once they get home! Each Charm School class is different and Muriel always comes up with something new and "charming". This month, we made a block carrier.
The carrier was made very simply with one charm pack and an old mailing tube....and what a great way to store the blocks you're working on. The flannel in the center holds the pieces of the block together so they won't slip or get lost and easily rolls up into a handy carrier for transporting unfinished blocks. Muriel even added cute little pincushions to the ends of her carrier!
The project was easily finished in class (don't you just love taking home a FINISHED project from classes?). Here are two carriers finished by students Vicki and Carolyn:
As you can see, Carolyn is already using her carrier for a wool applique block she's working on.
Our new class schedule for the fall has just been posted on the website so check it out and plan to sign up for one or more of our great classes! Our teachers are the best!!

Patchwork of the Crosses
I thought you might like to see another idea for Lucy blocks. Joanne has been making blocks for the Patchwork of the Crosses quilt since the beginning (in April of 2014!), but she just recently brought in another project she's working on as well. She took one-half yard of a great Christmas stripe and turned it into four exquisite blocks that will become a beautiful table runner for her holiday table. Only one block left and she'll be ready to start quilting it! She used every bit of the stripe and it's amazing how different each of the blocks looks.
Check out our Pinterest Board for other beautiful blocks made by our customers.
Go to the website if you need to order additional supplies.

Scattered Leaves
Julie's been collecting batiks and Fall type leaf fabrics for her "Fall Quilt" as she calls it. Would you believe she started collecting in 2010 and just got it back from the machine quilter. It's a beauty... about 90" x 100"...we think it was work waiting for to show off such a great collection of fabrics!.She calls it "Scattered Leaves". We all were drooling!

Exceptional Quilt Totes
It's always fun to see a finished project. This project tote was made by Debbie Fitts. Her focal block was made with a crazy quilt design and decorative stitches. Beautiful! We have kits with decorator style fabric and wool that would enhance any of your wool applique or stitchery projects. We have kits with the pattern for $47. Or pattern only is $12...use your 'stash'! This tote is perfect to carry patchwork, knitting or anything you're working on.
Here is another version from the same class. Made by Beverly. Her choice of fabrics resulted in a beautiful tote very much her style.

Patchwork of the Crosses
Ta Da!!!! One of our customers finished her Lucy Boston quilt...well, almost finished - she still has the outer edge to finish, but, so close. I couldn't wait for you to see it!
Libby decided she had enough blocks after she made forty-two, giving her a 6 x 7 set quilt. The original Lucy Boston quilt has fifty-six blocks, a 7 x 8 set quilt. What a stunning quilt!
When you're ready to finish your quilt, you will need the finishing papers to finish off the edges. These are very odd shapes, but they will give you a straight edge when you finish.
There are three different shapes and you will need a package of each shape. These are available on the Lucy Boston page of our website.
So, the next big question is...how to quilt this quilt! Do any of you have suggestions or plans for how you're going to quilt your finished quilt?
Are any of you besides Libby this close to a finished quilt? Send pictures of your progress - we want to brag about your quilts, too!
Now that you see how beautiful the finished quilt is, I'm sure you're inspired to work faster on yours!
Be sure to check our Pinterest Board for more inspiriation on POTC blocks.
Picnic Quilt Idea

More Show and Tell - hexies, Sharpie creativity and Wool applique flowers
It's such fun to see the diversity in style and projects of the gals attending the Silver Thimble Summer Stitch-In. Besides working on the popular Lucy Boston quilt, Sarah has been stitching flower garden blocks from her stash of Kaffe Fassett fabrics. She had a shopping bag full... These are a few... She's using assorted colors of big dot fabrics for the centers! Don't you love them!
We also enjoyed seeing Sarah's multi plug. She got it at Bed Bath & Beyond and decided to embellish it with markers! Don't miss her home made cinnamon rolls brought to the Stitch In by one of the gals.
Sarah loves all types of fabric. She also just finished "Petals & Pennies" by Primitive Gatherings. It's wool for the flowers and te 'pennies' appliqués on black flannel.

Stashbuster Show and Tell Plus a fabric and embroidery combo quilt
Julie shares her version of the Disappearing Hour Glass pattern at the Summer Stitch Ib . It's a great pattern using a layer cake of 10" squares. It is a great 'stash buster' using light and dark fabrics.
Elaine shares her progress on the Joyous Poinsettia pattern by Meg Hawkey of Crabapple Hill Pattern Company. Elaine proudly shares her center with beautiful stitchery and appliqué flowers. The center medallion is framed with red and white patchwork blocks. It will be a stunning quilt!

Women of the Bible Quilt
Mary Ellen recently visited the Silver Thimble Quilt Company's annual Summer Stitch In hosted by Pat Wys. Show and Tell is always great fun. Karen showed her Women of the Bible quilt top she had just finished. It's big enough so Karen's not adding borders. We love her contemporary fabrics. The CD with patterns and stories of 40 women of the Bible is available on our website.

Summer Row by Row Show and Tell
Our good friend Lila brought her granddaughter Natalie to the shop during
this summer's Row By Row Shop Hop. Natalie shows her version of "Sunbonnet
Sue & Overall Bill fishing on the Chattahoochee River". Natalie did not use one
of our kits for her row. We think she went through her 'stash' or probably
Grandma Lila's 'stash'! We love her colorful fish! Always great to see a new
generation of quilters coming along! Send us a picture of your 'young
person's patchwork and we'll post them, and randomly select a winner for a
bundle of fat 1/4ths! Email the pictures to: littlequilts@mindspring.com

Patchwork of the Crosses
Do you realize, if you've been following our blog since the beginning, that we're over half-way finished with our Lucy Boston quilts? Time flies when you're addicted to making these blocks!
Here's another sizzling block for summer...
I love the "cable" look that developed in that black border round.
Here are the fabrics I used...
Be careful cutting and stitching the stripe on this block!
