Have a Heart ~ Make a Difference Day

American Patchwork & Quilting is challenging quilters to join their efforts to Make a Pillowcase, Make a Difference. Every pillowcase can make a difference in your community... A pillowcase can provide comfort for a cancer patient, hope for a foster child, encouragement for a battered woman, or beauty for a nursing home resident.

We will be stitching pillowcases for charity as part of the American Patchwork & Quilting 1 Million Pillowcases initiative.

On February 11th we are inviting you to come to the store and sew pillowcases for charity.  We will be offering a free class, free patterns, store discounts, food and extended shop hours .

We will take the pillowcases to various charities in our area such as battered women's shelters, agencies that manage children in foster care and possibly even sending some overseas to our men and women in the military.

There are several ways you can participate on our Make A Difference Day on February 11th:
1. You can come to the store and sew pillowcases in the classroom.
2. You can purchase fabric at the store and we will send it down to our quilters in the classroom to make into pillowcases.
3. If you live out of state, we invite you to make your own pillowcases and mail them to Little Quilts 1450-C Roswell Rd. Marietta, GA 30062 and please mark the envelope with "One Million Pillowcases."
4. Consider getting together with your quilt guilds and stitch-ins and having a "pillowcase sew-in."  You can mail the pillowcases to Little Quilts.

This will be an ongoing project thorought 2010 and we will have more details soon......
